Forensics Courses

Forensics programs at Ontario colleges consist of courses that mix theory and practical lab applications to give students a thorough understanding of the forensic process, DNA analysis and the reporting process. Students will learn to use a wide variety of lab equipment and techniques to conduct research and examine specimens.

Courses in biology and chemistry give students the scientific foundation for biotechnology, while others have a specialized focus on forensics. These courses include:

General Forensics Program Requirements

Ontario college forensics programs require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, including grade 11 and 12 English, math and science credits.

Graduates of forensic programs will find positions as DNA analysts and technologists, forensic analysts, evidence technicians, lab technicians and more. These opportunities can be found in numerous industries, including (but not limited to):
