La Cité Programs

Living and learning at La Cité

La Cité has been welcoming students from Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick, as well as from other provinces and countries, for 25 years. Coming from a French-language institution, many La Cité grads enter the job market as fluently bilingual employees, giving them an edge in many competitive industries.

Beyond academic and career success, La Cité also focuses on helping students get the most out of their college experience and get involved in their community.

La Cité by the Numbers
See how La Cité stacks up with these fast facts and figures:

  • 5,000 full-time students, over 800 continuing education students.
  • More than 90 programs, over 50 of which are only offered in French, in Ontario, by the College.
  • Over 88 percent of graduates find employment within six months of getting their diploma.

La Cité, Ottawa
La Cité is located just a few kilometres from downtown Ottawa. Canada’s Capital offers both the perks of a big city (shopping, international cuisines and entertainment) and plenty of parks, bike trails, and outdoor activities.

Ottawa is very welcoming of the many students who live there. An award-winning transit system gives students easy access to arts and theatre events, as well as to attractions such as the historical ByWard Market (a restaurant, shopping and nightclub hub).

La Cité Student Life
Because La Cité is a smaller institution, making new friends and getting to know classmates is easy. You can also get the most out of your classes, with a lower student-to-teacher ratio.

La Cité’s athletic activities are a great way for students to stay active while also getting to know their peers. Intercollegial sports include volleyball, basketball and soccer, and a variety of recreational sports are also available.

La Cité Student Housing
La Cité’s residence can house up to 251 occupants and offers a safe and clean environment for students. It features 24-hour security, a non-smoking environment and fully furnished and air-conditioned rooms. Each room has a double bed, desk, chair and armoire. Each unit features telephone, cable and Internet, as well as a kitchen unit and a common area. The building is fully accessible and includes units reserved for students with physical disabilities.

La Cité Student Services
La Cité’s Achievement Centre brings students a variety of services to cover their academic, financial and personal needs. Just a few of the services offered include:

  • Financial Aid
  • Special Needs Services
  • Employment Services and Co-op Placement
  • Health Services
