Ridgetown Campus, Ridgetown
Ridgetown is a small town, with a population of only 3,450, but is home to rich historical attractions. The Ridge House Museum is a true-to-life rendering of the average home and lifestyle in 1875. You can also visit Uncle Tom’s Cabin, the home of the inspiration for Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novel of the same name, about Josiah Henson, located in nearby, Dresden.

Ridgetown also boasts the Greenview Aviaries Park and Zoo, as well as restaurants and off-campus housing options for students. For city life, the town is just a short drive from Chatham, which has shopping malls, movie theatres, parks, beaches, and the Thames River.

Ridgetown Student Life
Ridgetown’s small student population is one of its strongest attributes for student life. With small class sizes, students are better able to get to know their classmates and instructors, and also have easy access to the many hands-on learning opportunities.

Ridgetown is not small on extracurricular activities, however. There are many clubs and committees on campus that encourage student involvement, from the student’s council to the environmental club, and many more. A number of intramural sports hosted in Ridgetown’s new athletic facility helps students stay active while getting to know their peers.

Ridgetown Student Housing
Steckley Hall, Ridgetown’s on-campus residence, houses over 250 students in double and single rooms. Services in the residence include cable TV, phone and internet access, laundry facilities, fitness room and student lounges.

For students who want fewer distractions in residence, quiet wings are available. All first-year students who meet residence application deadlines are guaranteed a place in residence.

Ridgetown Student Services
Ridgetown offers a variety of student services, including their unique Animal Adoption Centre, which was created to help find homes for animals used in the Veterinary Technology program at the campus. Other services designed to meet the needs of the student body include:

  • Accessibility Services
  • Academic Skills Consultant
  • Alumni Services
