Choosing Boréal

Boréal by the Numbers
See how Boréal stacks up with these fast facts and figures:

  • 1450 full-time postsecondary students.
  • 150 part-time postsecondary students.
  • 7 campuses in cities across Northern Ontario and in Toronto.

Collège Boréal, Sudbury
The city of Sudbury is a thriving and growing community, and is a centre of technology, education and health for the North. Its shopping centers, restaurants and arts facilities give it the feel of any large metropolis, while its many lakes and landscapes preserve the feeling of living in the great outdoors.

Sudbury also has an active French community. In fact, over 28 percent of Sudburians speak French as a first language, and roughly 40 percent of the population is bilingual. French theatre groups like le Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario and French radio stations such as CHYC-FM are just a few of Sudbury’s French culture highlights.

Boréal Students

Boréal Student Life
From an academic standpoint, students at Boréal can expect smaller class sizes and more focused attention in the classroom. A smaller student body can also mean more opportunities for students to connect both inside and outside the classroom.

Boréal students have a number of activities open to them, from ski trips and carnivals to pub nights and much more. An athletic centre and varsity sports teams give students the opportunity to stay active while also meeting new people.

Boréal Student Housing
Boréal’s Sudbury campus student residence is equipped with 34 two-bedroom units, each featuring a bathroom and a kitchenette (which includes a refrigerator, microwave, cupboards, a sink and a small table). Bedrooms feature a double bed, abundant lighting and closet space, a desk and an armchair, as well as free telephone and cable access.

Common areas are easily accessible to all students for study and socializing. In addition, a volunteer committee formed every year is responsible for organizing plenty of fun events and activities for students living in the residence, giving students the full college life experience.

Boréal Student Services
Boréal’s excellent personnel, programs and services promote academic success and sociocultural development for all students. With the wealth of activities and the warm atmosphere both on-campus and in the classroom, students can expect to feel at home at Boréal.

Just a few of Boréal’s student services include:

  • Financial Aid
  • Employment Centre
  • Day Care
  • Athletic Centre
