Georgian College, Barrie
Barrie is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada with a huge assortment of restaurants, live theatre, art galleries, great nightlife and shopping centres. Enjoy biking and walking trails, ski hills and a waterfront that draws thousands of tourists each year. If that’s not enough excitement, Barrie is less than an hour from Toronto!

Georgian Students

Georgian Student Life
At Georgian, a strong student council leads students throughout their time at the college, providing numerous opportunities for socializing and making new friends. Just a few of the events include a robust orientation week, on-campus concerts and much more.

Athletics – including 13 varsity teams – and recreation opportunities in the fitness centre offer you plenty of ways to stay active. You are also encouraged to get involved in new and familiar activities and clubs, many involving the local community.

Georgian Student Housing
Georgian’s Barrie residence houses 525 students in suite-style units. These units have two single bedrooms, one bathroom, and kitchenette with fridge and microwave / convection oven. Each bedroom contains a double bed, large desk and closet with built-in shelf space. Satellite television, basic telephone service and Internet connection are also provided. Lounge areas, individual or group study spaces, as well as laundry and full kitchen facilities for larger groups are also available.

Students at the Orillia Campus will soon have the option of on-site housing. A 192-bed residence is planned to open in the fall of 2013.

Additional off-campus residences are also available in Barrie and Owen Sound next door to each campus.

Georgian Student Services
At Georgian, students get the support they need, when they need it, to meet every challenge. A sample of student services includes:

• Student Success (which offers academic, career, personal and disability counselling)
• Aboriginal resource centres and employment services
• Writing, tutoring and skills support
• Georgian Stores (for books, computer parts and general items)
• Security Services (such as empergency phones and an escort to your vehicle after dark)
