Living and learning at Fanshawe College


Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology emphasizes success, excellence and access. Though its London campus is one of the largest in Canada, students don’t get lost in the crowd – the excellent teachers ensure that students graduate with the skills they need to start successful careers.

Fanshawe’s curriculum includes everything from fine art, cooking and heath care, to apprenticeships and IT laptop programs. It offers theatre arts, electronics, fashion design, business and auto repair, just to name a few of its diverse programs. On top of that, the college has its own radio and TV station, a greenhouse and gardens for those with a green thumb, and much more to cater to all members of the student population.

Fanshawe’s London campus has been described as a city within a city, offering students sports and fitness facilities, a Student Centre for socializing, bookstore, library, art gallery, print shop, photo lab, hair salons, and even convenience stores and pharmacy. There is shopping available right on campus, as well as restaurants, concert venues, pub, and much more.

Should students decide to leave the campus, they’ll find a clean and safe city, with a population of 348,000. The excellent transit system is convenient for students, and there are plenty of cultural and recreational activities to take advantage of.

There are many opportunities for Fanshawe students to get involved in campus life. Whether living in residence or off campus, sports leagues, varsity teams and other sporting opportunities make it easy to get active. A wide offering of clubs, from social justice to meditation and everything in between, allows students to pursue their interests and meet other students who share in them.

Fanshawe Student Housing
Fanshawe’s residence offers a safe and convenient living environment for nearly 800 students who wish to live on campus. Residence Advisors are available on each floor to help students get the most out of their residence experience. Social events and activities, as well as common areas, make it easy for students to mingle and make friends.

Residence common areas make use of light housekeeping services. Student rooms come equipped with cable, internet and phone. Students do not pay utilities, but are expected to pay for long distance phone calls.
