All types of music programs at Ontario colleges will require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. A grade 12 English credit may also be required.
Many institutions will ask for a recording that demonstrates theory and performance ability as well as a history of your musical background and / or completion of music theory and ear tests. Dance, music and dramatic arts credits will also be seen as assets.
In the music business field, careers may include working with record labels, music publishers, performing rights organizations and more. Music theatre programs and applied music studies will prepare you to take the stage as a performer, while digital arts for musicians training prepares graduates for work in the film, video and multimedia industry.
