Life at Michener
The Michener Institute of Education at UHN, Toronto
The fast-paced city of Toronto has something to offer every student, whether their interests lie in arts and culture, sports or nightlife. With the wide selection of restaurants, nightclubs, galleries, museums and sporting events, it’s no surprise that Toronto is one of the most multicultural and diverse cities in Canada.
With Toronto’s reliable and comprehensive transit system, students will have no trouble accessing all the exciting opportunities the city has to offer.
Michener Student Life
In contrast to the big city where it is located, the Michener Institute is small, which makes it easy to develop friendships, get to know your classmates and engage with the faculty.
Throughout the year, the Student Council organizes a variety of activities, which in the past have included Blue Jays and Raptors games, trips to Canada’s Wonderland, Halloween parties and movie and pub nights. These events give students plenty of opportunity to socialize both on- and off-campus.
Michener Student Housing
Michener’s residence, Schatz Hall, is a five-story wing in the campus’ main building. It houses 12 students per floor in fully furnished single rooms that include a full bathroom. Each floor has a common room with a TV, a full kitchen and laundry facilities.
Michener Student Services
Michener offers a variety of resources to help students get the most from their education and their time spent at the college. These services include (but aren’t limited to):
- Health Services
- International Student Services
- Disability Services
- Financial Aid
