The Skills Ontario Competition and Career Exploration Showcase, hosted by Skills Ontario, is an annual event to promote careers in the skilled trades and technologies.

The Skills Ontario Competition is Canada's largest skilled trades competition. Over 1,900 students vie each year for medals in 67 remarkably diverse contest areas, including Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Hairstyling, Photography, Plumbing and Robotics. The event also includes a Career Exploration Showcase, with over 70 interactive displays where you can meet with industry, college, government and labour representatives to get information about training and job opportunities.

Can you picture yourself in a skilled trade?

Wondering what you’d look like as a fashion designer? A construction foreman? A hairstylist? Or maybe you think you’d look better as a world-class photographer, video game designer or culinary master.

Whatever your interests, find out which skilled trade is the perfect fit for you at the ‘Picture Yourself in a Skilled Trade’ photobooth. Choose from on-the-job props and uniforms, demo your best professional moves in front of our green screen, and take home a photo souvenir that shows just how awesome you would look with a career in a skilled trade.
